We Are Family CDC and One Stop Housing partnered together this year for the 2022  was featured on the front page of the Commercial Appeal yesterday. This story makes us appreciate the Mentors in our lives even more who helped us to be where we are today which allow us to “Pay It Forward” by helping others.

With the help of community partnership and faithful volunteers, during the month of November we provided 26 agencies with 1300 food boxes for individuals and 428 households with food boxes, commodities, hand sanitizers, gloves, masks and disinfectants. The total break down for households was 758 adults, 682 children and youth, 153 senior citizens and 27 veterans totally 1,622 people within the households.

National Night Out

On Tuesday, August 4, 2015, We Are Family, Aspire Public Schools, residents and community organizations in Orange Mound celebrated their vital relationships with their neighbors, city safety officials, and other public safety personnel by hosting an event for National Night Out (NNO) 2015.  National Night Out was created to promote residents’ involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and to send a message to criminals that crime is not welcome. This was a great opportunity for residents, organizations, and businesses to plan family friendly events in their neighborhood to encourage camaraderie and partnership, and help neighbors get to know one another. In attendance was Heal The Hood Foundation, Memphis Fire Fights, Memphis Police Department, an array of vendor. The event was proceeded by a parade. There was much food, fun and more!
